The Evolution of Cleaning!
Industrial cleaning used to be simple. There were plenty of products with strong chemicals/solvents that would blast away dirt, grease and grime. They worked quickly and did a good job. But over time users discovered the nasty side effects of these products. Many of them are hazardous to a person’s health and dangerous for the environment. What made them effective also made them unhealthy and unsafe for prolonged use.
Traditional soap cleaners attach to dirt, covering the surface and lifting the dirt off. Unfortunately it stops cleaning when used up, and causes a cloudiness that is called emulsifying. This emulsification is the effect of the soap attaching to the dirt. With agitation, the dirt breaks into smaller pieces, creating a cloudy single solution of soap/dirt attached to each other. This doesn’t allow filtration to work effectively because it filters both soap and dirt together, which leaves a dilution soap solution to try and finish the cleaning.
Caustic solvents are designed to chemically break up any molecule, not just dirt. Dissolving everything it touches and attacking not only dirt, but the surface being cleaned along with human skin. This continues until the solvents are gone or neutralized by other chemicals. It can also cause harmful vapors, etching and damage to the surface. The resulting solution is a chemical bath of the solvent and the dissolved dirt and the parts that are being cleaned, unable to be filtered out. Therefore the person using the solvent is required to use heavy gloves, a mask and eye protection.
Green cleaners introduced “green” cleaning products into the market. Most of these cleaners used natural ingredients which were eco-friendly, but weren’t effective cleaners. They couldn’t match the performance of traditional or solvent-based solutions. This earned them the reputation of “green doesn’t clean”. Manufacturers responded with pseudo-green products that were only green by name. They contained volatile chemicals and high pH levels.
Surge Industrial’s powerful cleaning solution
In 2013, Surge Industrial was introduced into the cleaning market as an eco-friendly product. Surge Industrial cuts through dirt, grease and grime without the need for heavy scrubbing. Surge Industrial is a high-performance, all-purpose cleaner that is safe to use, cost-effective and less expensive than comparable cleaners.
Surge Industrial’s unique formula makes water “wetter”, enabling it to send its tiny molecules into all the cracks and crevices between dirt, oils, grease and grime. This cleaning continues until it reaches the surface being cleaned. Surge Industrial separates the dirt, oils and greases from the surface making it easy to wipe or rinse away. We call this Dynamic Cleaning Technology (DCT).
Surge Industrial doesn’t emulsify the dirt, oil and grease like other chemistries. This allows Surge Industrial to continue to clean while the dirt floats to the surface, and is excellent for filtrating the dirt out while the full strength of Surge Industrial continues to clean the parts.
Surge Industrial is safe for people and the environment
Another problem with other cleaning products is the vapors. Inhaling these products can cause severe irritation of the respiratory tract, causing coughing, choking, or shortness of breath. High concentrations of vapors may effect the central nervous system resulting in headache, nausea and/or dizziness. Repeated or prolonged exposure can produce damage to blood, kidneys, liver and the upper respiratory tract. Many new-generation cleaning products contain butyl acetate which also causes coughing, sore throat, dizziness, headache, dry skin, eye redness and nausea.
Surge Industrial is a powerful cleaning solution suitable for everyday use. It’s easy on hands, hypo-allergenic, easily disposable, readily biodegradable, non-hazardous, non-corrosive and contains no volatile chemicals (VOCs).
It has no added fragrance or color and won’t harm people or the environment.
Surge Industrial Hard Surface Cleaner Concentrate is National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) certified as Category A1, safe in and around all food processing areas.
